Great Lakes Angels Hold Seminars for Angel Investors 05/04/2007
On May 16, 2007, the Great Lakes Angels will be holding two instructional seminars for angel investors. The seminars are an excellent chance for angel investors to learn more about their craft and to network with their peers.

Date: Wednesday, May 16, 2007
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Seminar 1); 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Seminar 2)
Location: VisTaTech Conference Center Manager, Schoolcraft College, Livonia, MI
Cost per seminar: $150 ($110 for members of local angel organizations)

The seminars will cover the following information:

Seminar 1 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.): Post-Investment Relationship Workshop
The Post-Investment Relationship Workshop is a half-day educational opportunity for angels with some investing experience. John May and Bill Payne provide content by recorded video to describe angel involvements after investment as mentors, as members of the board of directors and in assisting the entrepreneur in soliciting follow-up funding and teeing up portfolio companies for exit. A mix of participant exercises and expert input are included in this 4 hour workshop. Attendees will also participate in break-out sessions and discuss the topics covered. A comprehensive workbook will be provided participants. To provide adequate opportunities for interacting with the experts and other participants, registration will be limited to 30 individuals.

Attendees should be members of angel groups who have completed the Power of Angel Investing overview seminar or have made five to ten angel investments, or investors who are interested in learning more about the specifics of angel investing.

Seminar 2 (1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.): Due Diligence Workshop
The Due Diligence workshop is a half-day educational opportunity for angels with some investing experience. Experts from the local angel group will review a standardized due diligence checklist and then develop a specific checklist for an angel deal. Attendees will also participate in break-out sessions and develop due diligence checklists as a case study exercise. A comprehensive workbook will be provided participants. To provide adequate opportunities for interacting with the experts and other participants, registration will be limited to 30 individuals.

Attendees should be members of angel groups who have completed the Power of Angel Investing overview seminar or have made five to ten angel investments, or investors who are interested in learning more about the specifics of angel investing.
