MidMichigan Health One of America's Top Nonprofits for Women 04/23/2007
MidMichigan Health is a nationwide NAFE top employer for women in 2007.The National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) has named MidMichigan Health one of the top five nonprofits in the nation for its efforts to recruit, develop and advance women.

“This is an honor for MidMichigan Health and illustrates both the competency and the high value we place on our female employees,” said Terence F. Moore, president. “Eighty-four percent of MidMichigan Health’s employees are women, 68% of all managers are women and 77% of senior managers are women”, said Moore. “These statistics demonstrate the importance of our female workforce.”

MidMichigan Health was recognized at the NAFE Top Companies Gala Awards conference in New York City on March 28. Donna Rapp, senior vice president of MidMichigan Health attended the conference and accepted the award on behalf of MidMichigan. “Our organization has a history of women at the top being supportive of other women,” she said. “We have a strong history of female leadership on our boards and women involved on board committees. These women have been role models for me and others within MidMichigan Health.”

The other four nonprofits on the NAFE list of top companies are Baptist Health South Florida, Bon Secours Richmond Health System, Nova Health System and Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.

“NAFE applauds the innovative Top Companies for setting the gold standard,” said Betty Spence, Ph.D., the president of NAFE. “…NAFE honors companies that are promoting women and redefining the corporate landscape because they’re avatars in leveraging their valuable female talent—the competitive advantage of our nation.”

NAFE, founded in 1972, is the largest women's professional and business association in the country. It publishes NAFE Magazine, a bi-monthly publication distributed to 65,000 members. NAFE began conducting the Top 30 Companies for Executive Women in 2002, picking up the work of Working Woman magazine.
