Michigan Works!
Michigan Works! was established in 1987 to foster high-quality
employment and training programs serving employers and workers by
providing support activities and a forum for information exchange for
Michigan's workforce development system. That system has been
recognized by the National Alliance of Business as the most innovative
in the country.
Michigan Economic Development Corporation
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), a partnership
between the state and local communities, promotes smart economic growth
by developing strategies and providing services to create and retain
good jobs and a high quality of life. Midland Tomorrow, as an
interlocal partner of the MEDC, holds a seat on the board that directs
the corporate objectives of the corporation, and also participates in
quarterly meetings of the MEDC advisory group.
Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center
Midland Tomorrow is a satellite office for the Michigan Small Business
& Technology Development Center, Region 5. The Michigan Small
Business & Technology Development Center network provides a full
range of services for a variety of small businesses that are emerging
and growing throughout Michigan - new venture companies, existing small
businesses, expanding businesses, new technology companies, and
innovators. The MI-SBTDC is known throughout Michigan for its quality
counsel, training and market research capabilities. All services are
available at low or no cost because of the financial support of the
U.S. Small Business Administration and local partners in each region.
North Coast Technology Investors
North Coast, a Midland venture capital firm, is committed to forging
lasting partnerships. Midland Tomorrow works closely with North Coast
Technology Investors to bring new business and new ideas to the Midland
market.
Midland Downtown Development Authority
Midland Tomorrow partners closely with the Downtown Development
Authority on several initiatives to bring economic investment to
Midland, including applications for Michigan Cool Cities grants since
the Cool Cities program’s inception in the summer of 2004.
MITECH+
MITECH+, a Midland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, advocates for skilled and technical careers to close existing gaps between workforce and workplace. They work to connect students and their parents with technical career exploration opportunities and training resources so the best choices are made for students' career success, with the goal of ensuring that students, employees and employers thrive in mid-Michigan through rewarding skilled and technical careers.
Central Michigan Research Alliance
The Central Michigan Research Alliance (CMRA) is a regional affiliation
that links the technology resources and opportunities of Central
Michigan University, CMU Research Corporation, Midland Tomorrow,
Michigan Molecular Institute (MMI), Middle Michigan Development
Corporation, Saginaw Future Inc., and Saginaw Valley State University.
The CMRA promotes the many valuable intellectual assets available in
the Central Michigan region while developing a means to promote
cross-collaboration between companies and organizations in the area.
Michigan Economic Developers Association
MEDA provides educational programs to both members and non-members in a
variety of different areas specific to economic development. From
environmental issues and marketing to technology affecting economic
development, MEDA provides the answers.
