Taking Midland to the World
Midland Tomorrow's Strategic Plan
At Midland Tomorrow, our goal is simple: We work to attract and retain quality jobs that fit our business infrastructure and knowledge base. The means to achieve that goal are a little more complex, but they're guided by our strategic plan (newly revised in 2007) that divides our goals and objectives into three main areas:
Attract National Businesses
We're working to build proactive business relationships with chemical and technology companies around the globe that fit our business infrastructure. We're also working with our regional partners to do the same for national and international solar manufacturers. Our region has a strong value proposition to compete in both these key technology areas, and we're aggressively promoting the unique and deep technology manufacturing knowledge of our region - an advantage other areas can't match.
Develop Midland's Culture of Innovation
We work continuously to help over 90 local manufacturing and technology businesses develop new products, new customers and new markets, with the goal of making Midland an adaptive leader in fostering and successfully launching high-expectation new technology companies.
Maintain Midland's Attractiveness for Our Economic Base
Midland has a long history of proactive engagement with our existing economic base businesses. Our proactive strategy utilizes all resources available to us to ensure that when those businesses think “expansion” and “investment,” they think “Midland.”
There's a lot more to our strategy, but the goal is always the same: Making Midland (and making Midland known as) the best place for chemical and technology businesses to locate and grow their jobs and investment.
